Report 7 years ago 9. It's normal for women to date above their social class. Guys don't tend to care about a woman's social class so much as girls do. We care more about beauty. Report 7 years ago I'm from a middle class family and my boyfriend is working class, it's not that much of a problem at all. It comes up occasionally but we've been together for nearly two years and the class thing really isn't important.

Do Class Systems Exist in the Dating World?
You wouldn't have a conversation with me and think 'yikes, working class girl by here'. I don't get why people do fret about it so. My parents consider themselves upper-middle class by virtue of the positions they hold. Kate had shared interests with royalty. Once you get to a certain level of wealth, you would get comfortable around royalty too.
Biggest common difference is between working class and middle. Kate was hardly a commoner. I'm sick and tired of this romantic image the media have created of a romantic prince falling in love with a woman from a poor mining village. It sounds like Disney.
So why, in this day and age, do some of us still think about class when dating?
I know someone who works as a senior information officer aged 36 , earning under 40k a year and he married a multi-millionnaire female aged She came from a rather wealthy family. Anyone not royalty will have common roots. That programme 'meet the middletons' is the biggest pile of crap to splatter onto my tv.

Like those saying that you can never become upper class - you can marry into it, but even then you will never entirely be one of them. This is what people are emphasizing when they say William married a 'commoner' - her wealth doesn't go long back in time, therefore she is from "working class stock". Obviously the media wants to create as large a gap as possible, because it's a better story.
Kate went to Marlborough and St.
Andrews and was still young when she met William. She has been socializing with upper middle classes and above for a long time, and there isn't much 'common' about her. Personally, I absolutely believe it's possible to be together despite backgrounds, but I don't think it's probable that I'll marry someone working class.
Not because I have anything against it my mother's parents grew up working class , I just don't think it will happen considering who I socialize with now, at school and on holiday. There is obviously a difference between a middle class person and a upper middle class person vs working class and middle class.
I think working class feels like there is a large gap between them and the 'middle'.
